A: There will be standard glassware to pour the liquid in, we will asses the accuracy using a ‘’Pour tester for bartenders’’
↓Q: Is a additional stock available for the ‘’Classic cocktail category”?
A: Yes we will provide different kinds of syrups, juices, fruit etc.
↓Q: Is it possible that we can bring our own ingredients?
A: No it is not allowed to bring your own ingredients, we will provide everything.
↓Q: What is the time limit to develop my cocktail?
A: On day 1 you will have 20 minutes to create the recipe for the ‘’Classic cocktail category” and on day 2 you will have 60 minutes to create the recipe for the ‘’Mystery box’’
↓Q: What is the time limit to tell my story for the cocktail?
A: You will have both days 2,5 minutes to tell your story about the cocktail.
↓Q: Are the ingredients select randomly by the organization?
A: Each mystery will be different, you can aspect 4 different products in your box.
↓Q: For the assignment ‘’Mystery box”, are we allow to use elements like, dry ice, smoke or bubble guns etc?
A: Yes, you are definitely allow to use anything to make a show!
↓Q: What kind of glassware will be available?
A: There will be standard glassware, longdrink, tumbler and a coupe.
↓Q: We are going with the plane or a train, they are limits about what we can carry, is there going to be glassware and fruits to make the garnish?
A: We will provide the glassware and the fruits to make the garnish.
↓Q: Will there be a supermarket near the accommodation?
A: Yes the nearest supermarket is the Albert Heijn, search for it on Google Maps and you will find a couple of them.
↓Q: Do we need to wear the official school uniform?
A: It is not mandatory to wear the official school uniform; you can wear your bartender uniform or something that matches the theme of your cocktail.
↓Q: Are we allowed to use ‘’Pour Spouts’’ for the assignment ‘’Free pour’’?
A: Yes you are allowed to use pour spouts.
↓Q: How should we smell/identify the herbs? Will they be in a black box?
A: The herbs will be placed on a plate. You will be blindfolded, and someone will hand the plate to you. You will identify them based on scent.
↓Q: Drink identification: Is it only about smelling?
A: For drink identification, all the drinks will need to be tasted.
↓Q: Own cocktail: What can we expect in terms of drinks, etc.? Will everything that has been shown on Instagram be available? Can we bring prepared items like fat-washing?
A: You can expect a wide variety of ingredients from our sponsors, so keep an eye on our Instagram. It’s not allowed to bring your own prepared products.
↓Q: Can we bring our own items for the classic cocktail, like garnishes?
A: You are not allowed to bring any products. However, you are welcome to bring show elements!
↓Q: Will there be a list of ingredients provided?
A: Unfortunately, I can't share that information. If I release the ingredient list online, it would also reveal what’s in the mystery boxes. For brand-related information, I recommend keeping an eye on our Instagram!
↓Q: What is the official language?
A: The official language will be English for everyone.
↓Q: For the signature variation of the classic cocktail, do we need to memorize the recipe, or will we be given one to adapt? Can we look up the recipe?
A: For the "Classic to Signature" challenge, you can choose which category you want to use. You’re free to create your own variation. While it’s challenging to know the exact drinks available, you’ll have 20 minutes on the day of the competition to finalize your recipe.
↓Q: What type of ice will be available? Clear, cubes, Collins, etc.?
A: Ice cubes and crushed ice will be available.
↓Q: For liqueurs and spices, will they draw 5 out of 20 blindfolded and identify only those 5? Or will they have to taste/smell all 20 to identify their 5?
A: Participants will draw 5 cards for the liqueurs and spices. They are allowed to taste the liqueurs, and this will not be blind. However, the spices will be identified blindfolded.
↓Q: How much time will you allow for the liqueurs, spices, and pouring competitions?
A: Participants will have 10 minutes per assignment for the Free pour, spice identification, and liqueur identification tasks.
↓Q: For the mystery competition, can we bring equipment as instructed? Can we also bring ingredients for garnishes, such as cotton candy, lime powder, edible spray, or edible dust? Does this apply to the classic competition as well?
A: It is not allowed to bring garnishes.
↓Q: If we want to smoke a cocktail, will cloches for covering the glasses be available?
A: Cloches will be available for smoking. However, please bring your own smoking machine.
↓Q: For the pouring competition, will they pour all the pours into glasses and then be judged, or will it be judged one by one?
A: For the Free pour competition, participants will pour everything into glasses, and it will be checked after the participant has finished.
↓Q: Will glasses and trays be available for the competitors?
A: Glasses will be available for the cocktails, including Coupes, Longdrinks, and Tumblers. Trays will also be provided.
